Happy Happy Joy Joy! What a relaxing weekend. I decided to grab a couple pictures of me and Mariella. You know, since I only have like 10 pics of us together! lol

Wee Baby is reaching for us now.  She is also crawling.  Sitting. Pulling herself up.   Such a big girl..  I am thrilled she is accomplishing so many milestones.  Yet I am so heart broken that those moments have come and gone already.  My mom said it would go by quick…  but I had no idea.  I could live in this moment for a lifetime.  Sweetness everywhere I look.   Here a smile, there a spit-bubble, everywhere a giggle and a squeal.  Life is so sweet and I am enjoying every single moment spending it with my Wee Baby Girl.

Laughter…  a baby’s laugh makes everything ok.   I adore how Mariella loves everything.  All she knows is happy.

The outing would not be complete with out a picture of Wee Baby and her daddy!  The last picture make me so happy!  It makes me cry just seeing that smile Pat is giving Mariella.  He loves her so much…  Daddy’s little Wee Baby.

Wee Baby has a fabulous new play area!  It is safe, colorful, full of toys and big enough for the whole family to get in and play! She was playing around looking all cute in her monkey pajamas that her MeMaw gave her.  I jumped in to play and tried to get a few pictures of us.  Although I spend every moment of my day with Wee Baby, I don’t have many pictures of us together.  Whaaaaat?  She is 7 and 1/2 months old and I only have like a handfull of us together.  Crazy I know.  I want to get some more pics of us and will try more frequetnetly to capture some  mommy daughter moments.

Mariella, seriously….  you make me so happy.  So much beauty in the world when I see your sweet smile!

Being a mom is different than I imagined it…   It is brighter, better and more beautiful than anything I have ever experienced.  I didn’t know a love like this could possibly exist.  How can a spitbubble make me cry?  Or little toes make my heart melt.  I smile so hard when I see her reaching for something small, like a polk-a-dot on her pants, she uses her index finger and points and scrapes as if trying to pick it up.  I adore when she pushes herself off her belly and her right hand is turned inward and upside down…

Precious Precious Wee Baby Girl.  No words can describe how proud I am to be your mommy.

Mariella turned 4 months yesterday and she was such a big girl this morning for Easter! Last night I got her basket ready and put lots of cute goodies in it! Easter morning began at 8 am. I went into the kitchen to make a bottle ( wasn’t even thinking about Easter) and Pat went to change her diaper and get her ready for the day. I am in the kitchen… zoning out.. and Pat comes in holding Mariella and brought her straight to her Easter basket! “Look what the Easter Bunny brought you Wee Baby! Mommy worked so hard on your pretty basket!” My eyes just filled up with tears… my beautiful daughter… her first Easter… and her loving Daddy making sure she saw her Basket first thing… ~ so happy!

We gave her a bath and we all went to Target. Well Target was closed, so we walked up and down the shopping center for a good couple of hours. We went into Old Navy and I purchased Wee Baby her first pair of jeans. We went to Safeway grocery store and sat down and enjoyed a cup of Starbucks coffee. The sun was bright and it was so beautiful outside!

We found a pretty silk Easter dress for Wee Baby at Macy’s last week. She is so cute wearing this dress! We all went outside by the river and set up the tripod to try and take a family photo. We didn’t do so bad and I actually love the pictures we got!

Today has been so amazing!  Last night Mariella went to bed at 10 pm and slept till 6 am.  She got up, had a bottle and played in her crib for a bit and fell asleep again from 7 till 9.   I got up, put on my workout pants, grabbed a bottle, picked up Wee Baby and we went to the resident lounge and I enjoyed a cup of decaf and Mariella enjoyed her bottle. It was about 10 am and we started our walk outside.  It is a spectacular Spring day today and the weather is warm and it was beautiful and brezzy.  :-)  We went in a new direction up a hill….  and ended up talking to a nice neighbor who was working in his garden.  We continued up the river, around the bin and went to the wishing well.  I made a wish and we headed back home.  It was nearly a hour before we got back, she was getting sleepy so I walked up and down the hallway close to home incase she decided she wanted to get out of the stroller and sleep in her bed.

She fell asleep in the stroller about 11 am and  I rolled her into the yoga studio.  Where she slept as I did some yoga.  ahhhhhhhhhh boy did it ever feel good to stretch and bend and work hard to get into and hold my poses.   30 minutes go by and We head back to the apartment…  Now.. do I dare try and shower while she is still cozy?  I decided to go for it, I rolled her into the bathroom and I took a shower!  She woke up and played with her rattle as I sang and talked to her from the shower.  She didn’t make a peep.  I even was able to blow dry my hair and put on some lip gloss!  lol  and I went all out and put on a shirt with no stains!  lol

Then for the icing on the cake, we were both in blue and I decided to put us in the bunny ears her Daddy got her. 

I hope to do the exact thing tomorrow morning..  in fact every morning would be so great!

So I walked, did yoga, took a shower, put on clean clothes and some lip gloss all before noon!  Heck yeah this is a perfect day!!

Spring is here!  :-)  Me, Pat and Wee Baby decided to celebrate and venture out to the Patapsco Valley State Park. The weather was absolutely beautiful!  We stopped at subway to get a 5 dollar foot long for us to share, and we sat at a picnic table and enjoyed the sound of the river and fresh air.  I was a tiny bit disseminated because I forgot things were not green yet.  In my head, I pictured Wee Baby  hanging out with us on a blanket on the grass… playing and having a good ole time!  But things were still dead…  and brown..  and winter like.

We still had a wonderful time.  We all had lunch and then we went for a nice walk around the park.

Happy Spring is here!  I can’t wait for the trees to get leaves and the flowers to bloom!

S P R I N G ~ S P R I N G ~ S P R I N G

Today Pat and I took Mariella to her 2 month check up.  Even though she is nearly 10 weeks old!  We had some car malfunctions and some scheduling conflicts and finally we got her in today to see the doctor.  She weighs 11 pounds and 5 ounces, she is 22.5 inches long.  So she is doing fine gaining weight and growing.  She checked out fine and dandy.  I am worried about her poo, she seems to go several days between poops and it freaks me out.  The Dr says not to worry.  So I will try not too.

She had several shots today… poor Wee Baby.  It was so traumatic for her and for Pat and I.  I held one hand and Pat held the other.  She screamed and cried for a few minutes but I was able to calm her pretty quickly.  She fell asleep in the car seat when we left the office.   The Doctor told us she would sleep a lot so we decided to go to Target to get some groceries and household items.  We were there 5 minutes and Mariella woke up.  She did so well though, she didn’t make a peep and just looked around as we went up and down the isles. You could tell she was feeling crappy from the shots…

She had a few reactions from the shots, she had a little fever for the night, she vomited after her dinner, and she was crancky before bedtime.   All in all she was such a trooper and I am so proud of her!

Well…  scared to use the mist too..   I let a couple days go by since it wasn’t affecting her, I just thought she would sneeze it out or something.  (which she did once before)

It is morning… 9ish…  I am holding Wee Baby in the kitchen heating up a bottle.   It is quiet and we just woke up.  The bottle is almost done, I open the kitchen drawer to get a towel so I can wipe the steam off the bottle.  I grab the towel as I was talking to Mariella, “good morning sugar poo!” ” did you have a good nap?”   She went to talk and make some morning ohhs and ahhhs and as she did, some snotty stuff must have went in her throat.   She did an eyes closed – noses scrunched – mouth open – gaggy thing – and she didn’t take a breath.    My immediate response was to reach for the saline mist to squirt up there to loosen the snot so she could swallow it or cough it up..   ?  As I reached for the saline mist, I closed the kitchen drawer with my hip, I caught her little foot it the drawer.  So now she can’t breath and she is flailing her arms and legs all over the place because her mommy hurt her foot and she still needs to swallow or cough up a lump of snot.

I have the mist, pop off the clear top and do you see that little white top??  I tried to remove it too.  I pulled… I pinched…  I grabbed a steak knife and tried to slice it off..  Mariella is still jerking and flailing all over the place…  “damn this plastic is thick” one handed, trying to use a knife, too risky, I got halfway through the cap..  it is now jagged and sliced up.   “this is f**king ridiculous!”  I throw the knife across the counter…  back to the towel drawer to get the scissors… I chopped the tip off with the scissors.

Finally I got the damn cap off!!!

Freaked out, scared, using saline for the first time ever (for myself or baby) I give the bottle a test squirt.   I pressed the trigger and saline shot up and hit the ceiling! “OH MY GOD What the hell?  this is not right! Saline mist MY ASS!” arghhhhhhhhhh  helppppppppppppppp    meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

I have some saline drops in her bedroom….   so I run down the hallway to her room…  laid her on her changing table…  and successfully put a few drops in each nostril.  By this time, I think all the flailing and jerking movements from me running down the hallway knocked the snot down and out of the way.   She was happy and content laying there, and I was in tears from all the terror and chaos of the last 60 seconds.

You probably already know that there is no “white cap” on the saline mist bottle.  The way you see it is the way it is supposed to be.   In my panic, I thought I had to cut the top off to release the saline solution.  You know, like cutting the tip off of a tube of super glue, or a rubber silicon tube.   My brain just thought, get the white cap off so the spray will come out!

I can laugh now!  So can Pat, he nearly busted a gut when he came home and pressed the trigger on the saline mist bottle and saw the saline shoot up 6 feet.

Today was the best day!  The day started with a good 5 hour sleep from 1 am to 6 am!  Pat took Mariella from 6 to 9 and I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep.   We had free coffee from the lounge.   Morning lounging around the apartment.  Mariella took a good 3 hour nap, and during this time Pat and I cleaned up the apartment, washed the clothes, and got things looking like a home again!   I even took a shower!  lol

We put on our Saints gear and took our first Saints family picture.  :-)    Thanks to Mike and Denise, Mariella had her first Saints shirt!  She was so adorable and she actually stayed up and appeared to be watching the game during the first quarter! Mike and Denise started a new fun tradition!  Each year they are going to give Mariella a Saints outfit and we get to take a pretty pic of Wee Baby in her Saints gear.  Each year, Denise is going to add an 8 x 10 Mariella Saints picture to her wall, how cool is that?   Thanks Mike and Denise!

Who Dat!   We had fun, wish we could have spent it with more friends and family.   We were invited to watch the games with a friend in Pennsylvania, I was just nervous on taking care of Mariella out of the house. ….      I guess I must get out the house sooner or later!  ….  guess it is later!  Plus we just got back from bringing Wee Baby in from urgent care, I was worried about her poop, but not to worry it is all fine and dandy.  Thanks Shelly and Jason for thinking of us!  Maybe next time! 

Go Saints! 

My friend Ellen said, “she always looks so sweet and happy, where are the screaming her lungs out videos?!?!”   So I wanted to share a crying video…   Mariella was throwing a fit and her little face turned red and she was just not a happy camper.   I thought, hey!  Open up photo booth on the apple computer and take a video clip for Ellen!   So I did, and Mariella turned into a calm wee baby.   hahahaaaa how did she know?

Today Mariella is 18 days old!  She wanted me to give a special shout out to Gordon and Lynette because it is their Anniversary today!  So Happy Annivesary Gordon and Lynette!

Mariella received two things in the mail today ~ her swing set and her social security card!   wow…  her very own social security card….    awesome! I was going to take a picture of it… then thought, huh that is not a good idea Angel!

This evening, Wee Baby is having some wee sleeping issues ~ seems she is a bit of ants in the pants and having a difficult time staying calm.   So we snuggled up next to daddy on the couch and hung out for a long while.  She eventually fell asleep and rested calmly in her cradle until 2 am.  Right on schedule!  :-)    She is so demanding!  lol
